This pattern is an oldie but goodie. I created this pattern several years ago when I was new to pattern writing and it has become one of my go-to patterns for baby blankets – I even made my son a rainbow baby blanket with it.
The ripple stitch is worked in multiples of 14+1, so if you’d like to make a bigger or smaller blanket, you can adjust your starting chain accordingly. I wrote this pattern using 3 different colors of worsted weight yarn, but this blanket can be made in a single color or any amount of colors you’d like.
If you prefer a PDF pattern that you can print, you can find an inexpensive copy in my Etsy Shop.
Materials:
– Size I/5.5mm crochet hook
– Worsted weight yarn of your choice – I used RHSS in White, Baby Pink, and Minty

ch 116
1) dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in next st, *dc 5 times, dc3tog, dc 5 times, 3 dc into same st* — Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with 2 dc in last st. Be sure to finish your last dc with Baby Pink (112)
Using Baby Pink
2) ch 3, dc in same st, *dc 5 times, dc3tog, dc 5 times, 3 dc into same st* — Repeat from * to * across ending with 2 dc in the ch 3 from previous row (112)
3) Repeat row 2.
4) Repeat row 2. End with 2 dc in the ch 3 from the previous row. Finish your last dc with White (112)
Note: From here on out the pattern is a repeat of Row 2. If you’re not following along to obtain the same striping as my blanket, repeat row 2 until you have 57 rows. This should give you a 36” x 34” baby blanket.
