To kickstart the launch of my new blog, I’ve decided to share with all of you my new Haunted Voodoo Doll pattern!
I have been busy crocheting all of the spooky things since July but have yet to find a simple Voodoo Doll pattern that I loved. After messing around with a few ideas, I came up with this guy.
If you’re new to amigurumi, this just might be the perfect pattern for you – you really can’t mess it up!
And if you prefer having a printable PDF version of the pattern, you can purchase an inexpensive copy in my Etsy shop or on Ravelry.
Materials:
– Size E/3.5mm crochet hook
– Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn in Soft Taupe)
– Button (¾” – 1” in diameter)
– Black embroidery thread
– Stitch Marker
– Scissors
– Tapestry Needle
– Poly-fil
– Push Pins
Measurements:
Approx. 6” tall while seated. Sizing will vary depending on yarn type and tension.
Skill Level:
Beginner
Abbreviations:
mc – magic circle
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
blo – back loop only
flo – front loop only
st – stitch
() – total number of stitches in the round
inc – increase
dec – decrease
Additional Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terminology.
– Sizing will vary depending on how tightly or loosely you crochet.
– This pattern is worked in a continuous spiral – do NOT join after completing each round. Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning stitch of the round as your crochet.
– I use the invisible decrease when decreasing and the invisible close when finishing. There are some great tutorials on YouTube if you need help with this.

Assembly:
– Sew the body to the head using 18 stitches (round 20 of the head).
– Attach the arms to the body where the head and the body meet.
– Attach the legs to the bottom of the body at a slight angle – this enables your Haunted Voodoo Doll to “sit”.
– Sew the button eye onto the head. The top of my button sits at round 8 of the head and the bottom of the button sits between rounds 11 and 12 of the head.
– Sew an “x” eye using embroidery floss – I made my x even with the button eye.
– Using embroidery floss, stitch on the mouth and place random stitch marks on the body. They don’t need to be in the exact same place as mine. Get creative and have fun with it!
– Add push pins for display.
That’s all there is to it!
